Diabetic

Unfortunately, the number of diabetic cats seems to be on the increase. If you have a
cat with this condition and require boarding while you are away, please give me a call
to discuss the stability of his condition.

Generally, a diabetic cat will need to stay in separate accommodation or is sometimes
allowed to share with a family member. This is so it is easier to monitor and stress can
be kept to a minimum.

You will need to supply the prescribed insulin with adequate needles & syringes.  It will
be labeled and refrigerated in the cattery kitchen. A record  system is in place for all
medication to ensure there are no mistakes. We  will require a contact number where
you may be reached, while you are away and details of the vet you are using.

We regularly have diabetic cats staying and rarely have any problems with them,
providing the dosage of insulin is correct at stabilising the condition.

Cost is usually $4.00 extra per day
